This is a blog for people that need some cheap dinners! Every recipe is around five bucks a meal. Whether you lost your job, you’re getting paid less, or you just want to save some money. This blog is for you. I warn you in advance, many of these meals are not very healthy. A lot of them use pre-packaged items and plenty of them include no fruits or vegetables. I strongly encourage anyone making these meals to supplement them with vegetables and/or fruits. You can also use a homemade recipe of whatever comes pre-packaged in the recipe.
That being said, these dinners are so inexpensive! There are recipes from the following categories: Chicken, Beef, Pasta, Any/Other Meat, Vegetarian, and Other. The Any/Other Meat category is for meals that can use any type of meat, (i.e. chicken, beef, pork, ham, shrimp, etc.) or for a specific meat that is neither chicken nor beef (sausage, turkey, pork, etc.). Also, I use the term “Vegetarian” very loosely. I don’t really know anything about cooking vegetarian meals. I label it vegetarian when the main protein is not a meat.
These recipes are fairly simple and are easy to adjust as needed. They do; however, require some degree of cooking knowledge. If you don’t know how to boil a pot of water or you can’t tell when your ground beef is all the way cooked, this blog isn’t for you. I encourage anyone reading to use every single recipe they want. Feel free to adapt them to your own cooking style and to your family’s preferences.
If you ever have a question about the recipe, just leave a comment. If you want to give me a new $5 meal, especially one that is healthy, just leave it in a comment or email it to me and I will happily (extremely happily) post it. Bon appetite!
